Reaper Bones – Trista, the White Wolf

Im tapferen Kampf gegen die drückende Hitze habe ich den Pinsel geschwungen und eine weitere, hübsche Dame zu meiner Sammlung hinzugefügt.
Eine Paladina und nicht zum ersten Mal eine aus dem Hause Reaper. In diesem Fall allerdings das erste Mal eine Figur aus der „Bones“ Serie.

Reaper Bones – Trista, the White Wolf (1/5)

Es handelt sich um „Trista, the White Wolf“, doch in dem Stil und den Farben, in denen ich sie bemalt habe, geht sie auch genauso gut als eine weitere Version von Aylohna durch. Als jüngere Variante vielleicht?!
Die Haarfarbe ist nur vielleicht etwas zu gräulich dafür geworden. Schwarz ist aber auch nicht einfach zu malen und irgendwie mag ich es da bei Haaren ins helle graugrün oder graublau zu gehen.

This is „Trista, the White Wolf“, but based on the style and colors I used to paint her she could be another version of Aylohna as well. A younger version maybe.
Although the hair color turned out a little too grey for it. Well, black is really not easy to paint and when it comes to hair I laike to take it up to a light grey green or grey blue.

Die Base ist mal wieder ganz einfach aus Kork gebaut. An der höchsten Stelle dürften es drei oder vier Schichten sein, wobei ich aber verschieden dicke Reststücke verwendet habe.
Und ich habe etwas mehr Grünzeug als üblich verwendet, da ich mittlerweile einen ganz guten Vorrat von Mini Natur da habe. Die hier verwendeten sind zwar laut Hersteller für Maßstab 1:87, aber ich finde, sie passen besser zu 28mm Minis (= 1:56). Die andere, verfügbare Größe (1:48) wirkt immer etwas sehr mächtig.

Beim Schild habe ich etwas mit Vallejo Liquid Mask experimentiert. Leider sind sowohl die Stellen, wo der Metall hervorschaut, als auch die hellen Kanten etwas dick geworden.
Wenn ich ganz viel Langeweile habe, kann ich da eventuell nochmal beigehen. ;)

The base is once more built from simple cork sheets. At the highest point it should be three or four layers. But since I used leftover peices of different thickness it’s hard to tell.
As well I used a few more greens than usual. By now I have a pretty solid supply of Mini Natur products and although the used once are listed as scale 1:87 by the manufacturer they fit quite good to a 28mm miniature (= 1:56 scale). The bigger products (1:48) most of the time just look too big.

I experimented a little bit with Vallejo Liquig Mask on the shield  but unfortunatelly the sections with the shown metal and their ecge highlight got a bit too thick.
If I’m really, really bored one day I might give it another try. ;)

Die Biegung im Schwert ist übrigens ein Nachteil des günstigen Materials der Bones-Figuren. Das lässt sicher aber meistens durch weichmachen mit sehr heißem Wasser und schocken mit Eiswasser nach dem Zurechtbiegen beheben (ähnlich wie bei Resin). Man sollte allerdings daran denken, BEVOR man mit dem Malen anfängt. Also nicht so wie ich. ;)

The curve in the sword blade is by the way a drawback of the low-cost material used for the Bones figures. Such problems can usually be fixed using very hot water to soften the parts and then harden it with ice water after you’ve bent it into the right place. But you should do this BEFORE you start painting. Not like I did. ;)

Ansonsten ist das Material der Bones-Serie ganz wunderbar. Es ist zwar ungewohnt weich und hier und da könnte der Guss vielleicht etwas schärfer sein (kann aber auch an der jweiligen Figur liegen), aber das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis ist bei 2-3 Euro pro Figur einfach genial. Bin froh, dass ich direkt ein paar mehr Figuren erstanden habe. ;)

Besides that the material of the Bones series is great. It’s unsually soft and at some points the cast could be a little sharper (on the other hand it could be an issue of some particular models) but at 2-3 Euro per figure the price to performance ratio is simply brilliant. I’m glad I did not buy just one model at a time. ;)

Abschließend will ich nur sagen: Es war sehr spaßig, wenn auch – durch den hohen Metallanteil – übermäßig spannend zu bemalende Figur und ich freue mich schon auf die nächste Bones-Figur.
Nun bin ich aber erst einmal müde und verkrümele mich mal… Dabei wollte ich doch heute auch noch ein Unboxing geschrieben haben. ^^

Finally I just want to point out: It was fun to paint her but – because of the high amount of metal parts – not always overly fascinating. And I’m definitely looking forward to painting the next Bones figure.
But for now I’ll crawl into my bed and try to find some sleep… So much for the unbosing I intended to write as well today. ^^
